Roseville-based Family Green Survival delivered 4,000 bags of cereal packs — equating to 16,000 breakfast servings — to the Placer Food Bank Oct. 14, as part of the group’s efforts to combat hunger through its Bag of Life program.

Currently the SAD diet derives most of its energy from poor quality proteins, low quality fats, refined carbohydrates, copious amounts of added sugars, and is loaded with excessive sodium and immune system harming chemicals. Another problem is that the most convenient, most advertised, and most familiar foods promote obesity. As result, we have an avalanche of Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease, even among teenagers. We need to make a change.
If the prevalent food shopping and eating habits continue, nation’s obesity rate is projected to reach 50% by 2030 – every other person is going to be MASSIVE. As a result, 1 in 3 people will develop Type 2 diabetes, the projected rates for Hispanics and blacks are far worst. Our food is killing us.
