| Mother’s Day for Mother Earth™ Eating Green will save gasoline, electricity and cooking gas, all used to commercially process, transport, and cook the food we eat; as well as reduce the packaging waste – glass, plastic, paper, and metal. |
Based on the adage: “Think Globally, Act Locally,” the program asks that you pledge to eat one day a month only raw ‘green’ foods – foods that have been minimally processed after harvesting — only ‘raw’ vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, honey, and water from the tap. Eating Green will save energy – electricity and gas – used to commercially process and transport foods, as well as for home and restaurant cooking. Eating Green reduces the waste produced by processed food packaging – glass, plastic, paper, and metal.
Eating Green one day a month provides you and your family a degree of personal commitment to the global cause of ‘green living.’ The rules for Eating Green are:
It might seem to be a difficult change to make, but once you have made the change, you will be surprised at the benefits of reduced cost, saved time, waste reduction, and a feeling of well being. Remember, you and your family will be making a statement that you do care about our beautiful planet.
Participants in the program will receive well tested recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts.
