President’s Message
Though I started my working life as a civil engineer, and then morphed into a management consultant, www.center4pm.com, my hobby and ‘off screen’ focus has been on developing recipes for foods that are nutritious, delicious, and tasty; considered to be a dichotomy by many. At the start of 2007, I began writing a food column for three regional newspapers with much positive response from readers. Then starting in 2009 with the economy taking a deep hit, the nation faced a new dilemma — widespread problem of hunger and poor nutrition in the under-served community and on the other end of the scale, nation’s obesity rates were in a steep upturn. This led me to wondering how I could use my professional experience to advance the cause of fighting hunger, living a more green and empathetic life which is mindful of the needs of others. One of the triggers for the change was an experience while I was on a consulting assignment in Segovia, Spain. The elevator in my hotel building had a sign that read, “Occupancy 5.” Someone had crossed it out and jotted down, “Or 3 Americans.”
The result is the FamilyGreenSurvival® with a mission to fight hunger and to deliver a program of healthy nutrition practices to combat the ever growing obesity. We also strive to build a deep commitment to green living and to develop knowledge and empathy for the world’s under-served population.
Join us and be a part of the solution.
